BAC is the hugest, biggest, largest entity on The Textile Planet. This over-sized organization is in charge of pretty much everything. Their mission statement goes something like this: To bring the universe of natural fiber to the universe. To support their mission, BAC owns and controls every aspect of the fashion industry from soup to nuts. They own the fiber plantations for cotton, flax, wool, and whatever. They transport the raw fiber from the fields to the factories. They run the factories to process the fibers from raw materials all the way to woven fabric designed by genius "artists." The BAC designers not only engineer new fabrics but also create outrageous styles for those fabrics. Everything comes together for BAC every night in The Do where the daily fashions are exhibited and orders for both finished clothing and raw fabric are taken. Everything rides on The Do.
While not the only player on the Textile Exchange, BAC is certainly the biggest. The only competitors BAC has are a handful of factories working with synthetic fabrics and little mom and pop outfits using the one ragamuffin fiber that consistently shows low potential for profit: industrial hemp. BAC stays away from hemp like the plague.
